Jenni's Anime Recommendations

Today I thought I would do a casual recommendation post. And why not on one of my favourite topics Anime! If you still want a life then just leave now... If you would like to know what I suggest for first time Anime watchers, or you just want to know some of the Anime's I like to watch, then carry on reading...

I have watched a lot of Anime over the years. But these are some of the ones I really enjoyed.
I will start with the real life, everyday experiences that may happen in our mundane world, known other than Slice of Life.

Glasslip - This is such a cute Anime to watch, if you want something light hearted with romance thrown in then Glasslip is a good one to start with and the art is amazing. Tōko Fukami's family runs a glass-working business in a small seaside town named Hinodehama ("Sunrise Beach"). She hangs out with her four best friends at a cafe called Kazemichi ("Wind Way"). During the summer break of their senior year in high school, they meet a transfer student named Kakeru Okikura, who claims that a voice from the future talks to him, and that it has led him to Tōko.

Golden Time - This was a really interesting one to watch. It's light hearted with drama and romance. Banri is the protagonist and is a freshman studying law in a private university in Tokyo. His hometown is in Shizuoka Prefecture, and he now lives alone in a small apartment. The day after his third-year high school graduation ceremony, he fell from a bridge, and now suffers from severe retrograde amnesia, unable to remember anything from before the accident. He missed the college entrance exam and one year of school because of his hospitalisation.

If you like full blown high school romance, then look no further...

Wolf Girl and Black Prince - I loved this. Yes, it's a little cheesy but it is hilarious and I watched the whole season in one day. While the proud Erika boasts to her friends about being lovey-dovey with her boyfriend, she has never really had one for 16 years. Feeling the limits of lying, she took a picture of a cool guy she found in town and showed it to her friends as her boyfriend. But the person in the picture happens to be Sata Kyouya who is in the same grade in their school. While she was able to explain the situation and convince him to act like his boyfriend, he was not the nice looking boy she thought he would be

My Little Monster - I laughed all the way through this Anime. But at times I just wanted to shake Mizutani. Impassive girl meets trouble maker in a brand new love story! After Mizutani Shizuku, a girl whose sole interest is studying, is asked to deliver some handouts to Yoshida Haru, a boy who hasn't come to school after spilling blood on the first day, she finds herself the target of his affection.

If action is your thing...

Attack on Titans - Is terrifyingly brilliant with beautiful art and animation. Many years ago, the last remnants of humanity were forced to retreat behind the towering walls of a fortified city to escape the massive, man-eating Titans that roamed the land outside their fortress.

If any of the above really aren't your thing then I really recommend these Anime's...

Sword Art Online - I absolutely adored this easy to watch Anime. It has likeable characters, wonderful artwork and a fantastic storyline. I even liked the romance in it as well as action and the whole Virtual Reality topic, which we are now heading towards.
In the near future, a Virtual Reality Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (VRMMORPG) called Sword Art Online has been released where players control their avatars with their bodies using a piece of technology called: Nerve Gear. However, if they die in the game, they die in real life.

Charlotte - I had waited so long for this series to start. It's seems like a high school romance with science fiction and fantasy added. I really enjoyed this one. The only down side is that it's only one season. I wish they do another season.
Very few adolescent boys and girls have an onset of special abilities. Yu Otosaka is one such man who uses his ability unbeknownst to others in order to lead a satisfying school life. Then one day, a girl named Nao Tomori suddenly appears before him.

Well, that just about rounds up my favourites to watch as an introduction. There are tons out there and in all genres. All of the Anime's above I have watched on Crunchyroll which in my opinion is the best app to watch Anime on.

Thanks for reading x
