Book Review: New World Rising by Jennifer Wilson

Top of my favourite books of 2016. I had heard fantastic reviews of this book. So, naturally I purchased the kindle version, because I lack patience. I was so eager to read this book and I was not disappointed. I absolutely loved it, I just could not put it down.
I am on the edge of my seat waiting for book two.

Jennifer's writing style was on point and beautiful. It just flows and is so easy to follow, no messing around, straight to the point.

New World Rising follows a seventeen year old girl, called Phoenix. Her only purpose in life is to uphold her dying mother's words 'Be strong and survive'. However, surviving in Tartarus is frighteningly hard. Tribes run this ruthless and cruel city. Their motto 'Join or die' makes Phoenix even more determined to live and survive in the shadows of the city.

I have only read one other dystopian series and that was Divergent. New World Rising is totally different and interesting. I loved the structure of this world and the different tribes that dominate Tartarus. It kept me on my toes, I wouldn't want to live in this world, which makes it interesting. This leads me to mention Phoenix, the heroine of the book. She is so strong and clever, something she had to become in order to survive this world. I adore her feistiness and blunt attitude. Jennifer's way with words made all of her characters believable, loveable and 3D.

If you are looking for a fast paced, action packed, guns, knifes, explosions, fights and more. Then you must read this book.
