My Favourite Coffee Table Christmas Treats

This is the time of year I have an excuse to stuff my face. Not just with the main Christmas dinner, but with the treats that sit on the coffee table. The snacks you munch on while watching a Christmas film.

I want to share with you my favourite Christmas treats that I love to snack on throughout the holiday.

Gingerbread - I love gingerbread at Christmas time. I don't know what it is that makes it so christmasy. Every year, I bake my own gingerbread cookies and use Christmasy cutters. I use quite a bit of spice and ginger, than normal to add warmth into the cookies. Look out for a gingerbread post coming soon.

Original Ferrero Rocher - This is a staple on my treats table, especially when you have guests round. I don't know what it is that makes you seem posh when you pass this around the table. If you haven't tried a Ferraro Roche, it's basically a round ball. Made up of layers of wafer and hazelnut, covered in milk chocolate and dressed in sparkling gold foil.

Twiglets - Now this is quite a controversal snack. Not everyone likes a twiglet, as it's pretty much a maze crisp, covered in marmite. I hate marmite, but I do like twiglets and my little table wouldn't be the same without them.

Nuts - Did anyone remember their parents sticking a bowl of nuts in the middle of the coffee table? Usually in a decorative bowl with a nut cracker, that only came out at christmas. Yea? this was my mum and since leaving home ten years ago, I have stuck with the tradition. This is really to accommodate my mum who loves walnuts, hazelnuts, and chestnuts. I'm such a good daughter.

Pringles - I ALWAYS buy Pringles for christmas. They're easy to share and can stay in the tube, which saves space and who doesn't love a pringle?

Mince Pies - The ultimate snack or pudding. If I can be bothered, or if I'm not working christmas then I would make my own. Usually my mum bakes them like they're going out of fashion and I will take a box full of them. But, who can miss this off their table?

Chocolate - Last but not least. Whether you like Quality Street, Roses, Heros, or Celebrations? This is another staple. I will buy at least three tubs as they always seem to go quickly.

That concludes my post for today. What snacks do you like to munch at Christmas?
